A Note on the Density of Curvatures in Integer Apollonian Circle Packings
Bounded Apollonian circle packings (ACP’s) are constructed by repeatedly inscribing circles into the triangular interstices in a configuration of four mutually tangent circles, one of which is internally tangent to the other three. An integer ACP is one in which all of the circles have integer curvature. In this paper, we give a lower bound on κ(P,X), the number of integers less than X occurrin...
متن کاملConformal diffeomorphisms and curvatures
In a study of Riemannian manifolds admitting conformal transformation, the Riemannian and Ricci curvatures play an important role for characterizations and classify such a manifold. In this note, we summarize known results about Riemannian manifold admitting conformal transformations and related topics.
متن کاملOn the Topology of the Space of Negatively Curved Metrics
We show that the space of negatively curved metrics of a closed negatively curved Riemannian n-manifold, n ≥ 10, is highly non-connected. Section 0. Introduction. Let M be a closed smooth manifold. We denote by MET (M) the space of all smooth Riemannian metrics on M and we consider MET (M) with the smooth topology. Note that the space MET (M) is contractible. A subspace of metrics whose section...
متن کاملGaussian and mean curvatures of rational Bézier patches
This note derives formulae for Gaussian and mean curvatures for tensor-product and triangular rational Bézier patches in terms of the respective control meshes. These formulae provide more geometric intuition than the generic formulae from differential geometry.
متن کاملA Note on the Paper ”isoparametric Hypersurfaces with Four Principal Curvatures”
In [6], employing commutative algebra, we showed that if the number of principal curvatures is 4 and if the multiplicities m1 and m2 of the principal curvatures satisfy m2 ≥ 2m1 − 1, then the isoparametric hypersurface is of the type constructed by Ozeki-Takeuchi and Ferus-Karcher-Münzner [18], [11]. This leaves only four multiplicity pairs (m1, m2) = (3, 4), (4, 5), (6, 9) and (7, 8) unsettled...
